What is so great about SkinGoal Eye Super Serum?

As with all the SkinGoal products, I developed this one with a very clear purpose in mind. Yes, it’s got a fabulous texture and feels silky smooth on application, and yes, it makes skin feel hydrated and smooth, but not greasy, immediately you apply it to your skin, but these sensations are actually quite easy to make happen in an eye cream, which isn’t enough for me. All my products need to be truly, lastingly effective, or there’s no point to them and I won’t put my name against them.
SkinGoal Eye Super Serum is designed to stimulate the creation of healthy, youthful-looking skin and slow the skin’s ageing process with the goal of a firmer, more compact skin feel. It’s also designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, wth the hoped for result that people stop telling you how tired you look. I mean - so rude!
So how does it do these things?
Stimulate the creation of healthy, youthful looking skin
How? Peptides - peptides is how. I have written about the benefits of peptides in skincare before. In short, they give the skin the ingredients it needs to boost the production of collagen, which drops away as we age. The lead peptide I have chosen for the Eye Super Serum is Palmitoyl Tripeptide–1. This superhero peptide mimics the relationship between the growth factors involved in the skin’s healing process and the production of collagen. Essentially, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 tricks the skin into producing more collagen to improve elasticity and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Clinical research has proven that PT-1 works even more powerfully when combined with additional peptides, and I have chosen another superstar peptide - Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. PT-7 serves as an anti-inflammatory after exposure to UVB-irradiation. Yes, I know, it’s a lot of words - but when you know clinical studies showed that using PT-7 visibly reduces facial wrinkles, you can see why I wanted it in my eye cream.
Slow the skin’s ageing process
We age, there’s no getting around that. And with age our body chemistry changes, the processes our bodies did so well at age 20 aren’t quite as rapid or effective now. To reinvigorate the production of new skin cells, a process that slows with time, we need to stimulate our stem cells to kickstart the production of new skin cells. How? There’s a rather wonderful apple tree - malus domesticus - that was treasured back in the day for the longevity of its apple storage over winter. Scientists, who question everything, wanted to know why. It’s to do with its stem cells. Hmm, those scientists thought - I wonder if we can do something with this? One of the results is that they discovered that the application of Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract boosts the longevity of human stem cells and also boosts the production of new stem cells - both of which act to increase the production of skin cells, leading to a thicker dermal skin layer, and so a lessening in the depth of fine lines and wrinkles.
Reduce the appearance of dark circles
Who loves avocado? I do, and I love it even more now I know that Avocado Fruit Extract, or Persea Gratissima Fruit Extract, as the scientists call it, acts on inflammation, pigmentation, vascular and lymphatic permeability, blood circulation and fatty deposits, all of which adds up to a reduction in the appearance of eye bags and dark circles. Clinical trials show measurable reductions in dark circles and puffiness, and who doesn’t want some of that?
